Heated Vests For Men

Ororo Heated Vest

Company: Ororo

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.9/5

This Ororo vest is one of my favorites for a lot of reasons. First off, it’s really well made and can stand up to the elements. You won’t have to worry about water seeping through or it ripping.

Secondly, it’s very stylish. Not only can you wear this vest while skiing, hunting or with any other outdoor activity, you can wear it in your everyday life. This product looks good and doesn’t give off the impression there’s a battery in it.

  • 4 heat settings: Almost all products on this list come with multiple heat settings but few come with 4. This means you’ll be able to get the perfect amount of warmth no matter how cold or warm it feels.
  • 8 hours of heat: On the lowest heat setting this product delivers 8 hours of continuous heat. This should be more than enough to keep you toasty no matter what you’re doing.
  • Machine washable: You’d think because this vest has wires and heating elements it wouldn’t be machine washable but it is! This makes life easier when it comes to cleaning this item and means you won’t have to hand wash it.
  • Carbon fiber heating elements: Carbon fiber heats up very quickly so you won’t have to wait around to feel the warmth. Also, it’s extremely safe.
  • 4 heating areas: You get all around heat if you decide to purchase this vest too. You get heating on your right and left chest, back and neck area.

As you can see there’s a lot to love about this product. You know what else you’re going to love? This Ororo vest isn’t that expensive either and that makes it one of the best values on the market.

Mobile Warming Men’s Vinson Heated Vest

Company: Mobile Warming

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.8/5

Here we have another quality vest that won’t the bank. One thing I really like about the Mobile Warming Vinson vest is it has 4 heat settings like the previous product.

This means you get complete control over the heat and will always be able to find a setting that works for you. On high you get a whopping 149 degrees of heat and on the lowest you get 100 degrees.

  • Windshark 4-way stretch material: This material is good for movement and this means this product is perfect for all outdoor activities like skiing, hunting, hiking and more. Windshark does a great job protecting you from the elements too and you’ll be fine if it rains or snows.
  • Mesh liner: This liner has a few functions and the most important is it wicks away moisture. This prevents sweat build up and keeps you nice and dry.
  • 3 heating zones: This product gives you good heat coverage and you get heating across your chest and back.
  • Heats up instantly: Some vests take forever to heat up, which leaves you cold. This one, however, warms up quickly and makes sure you’re never cold.
  • Quick charge time: Another thing you’ll run into every once in a while is a battery that takes forever to charge. The battery that comes with the Vinson charges up in 2 hours, though.

Even though this product is pretty affordable, it gets a lot of good reviews. To see what others are saying about this vest, click below:

Volt Men’s Resistance Heated Vest

Company: Volt

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.9/5

If you’re familiar with heated clothing then you’re probably familiar with Volt. This company makes every kind of heated gear you can think of and all their products get good reviews. That’s the case with their Resistance vest and this is one you’re really going to like if you decide on it.

One thing I like about this product is it comes with 4 different heat settings. You’ll have a lot of control over your comfort because of this and be more prepared for different kinds of weather.

  • 10 hours of battery life: On the lowest heat setting you get 10 hours of battery life which is very good and more than most.
  • 4 heating panels: You get all around warmth because of this too. Your core is definitely going to get a lot of heat because 3 panels are located on your chest and back.
  • 150 degrees of heat: On the highest setting you get a high of 150 degrees which will keep you warm even it gets very cold.
  • 80 grams of insulation: Another reason this product does a good job preventing you from getting cold is it comes with additional insulation.
  • Non-bulky: When you’re skiing or doing anything that requires movement, you don’t want a vest that’s too bulky. Because of the Zero Layer heat system this product isn’t bulky at all.

This is another vest that I would say isn’t too expensive but certainly not cheap. If you want a dependable and comfortable heated vest without over paying, you should definitely consider the Resistance.

Lenz Men’s 1.0 Heated Vest

Company: Lenz

Price: $$$$$

Our Rating: 4.9/5

Lenz is a company that only makes high quality gear – they make some of the best heated socks on earth too (the Lenz Heat Sock 1.0). Their 1.0 heated vest is just as well made and is a vest everyone will love.

One thing that separates this product from the others on this list is the heating can be controlled through your phone and the Lenz Heat App. This means you won’t have to fumble around trying to get the battery to switch the heat. You can simply take your phone out and make the change.

  • 4 way stretch materials: This vest is good for any activity that requires a lot of movement like skiing and hiking. A big part of this is the 4 way stretch materials, which caters to mobility.
  • Water resistant: You’ll also be protected if you get caught up in a rain or a snow storm. The 1.0 does a good job repelling water and is good in all elements.
  • 20 hours of heat: This is one of the highest run times and is perfect for people that expect to get outside in the cold a lot. 20 hours should be good for a few days, let alone one!
  • Machine washable: This definitely makes this vest convenient. Instead of hand washing it you can just throw it in the washer machine to clean it.
  • Short charging time: When it does come time to charge this product up, you won’t have to wait all day. In a few short hours the battery should be fully charged.

If there’s one downside with this vest (and this is true for all Lenz products), is it’s very pricey. In fact, it’s one of the most expensive products on this list, if not the most expensive.

If you’re short on cash this year, then maybe you’ll want to look elsewhere. If, however, your budget allows for it, you should think about this product. It’s definitely a piece of clothing you’re going to love.

Action Heat Men’s 5V Heated Vest

Company: Action Heat

Price: $$$$

Our Rating: 4.9/5

Action Heat is well known when it comes to heated gear – some heated apparel they make includes gloves, jackets and of course vests. Their 5V men’s vest is another high quality option and one I would consider in the top tier on this list.

One thing you’re really going to like with this vest is you get 9 hours of heat on the lowest heat setting. It doesn’t matter if you’re hitting the slopes, working or doing any thing else – 9 hours should be enough to keep you toasty.

  • 135 degrees of heat: On the highest heat setting you 135 degrees of heat which should protect you when it’s very cold out. On the medium setting you get 115 degrees and on the lowest you get 90 degrees.
  • USB port: If you hate having a dead phone you’re going to love this feature. You can charge your phone or any other electronic because this vest has a USB port built in it.
  • Action Warmth insulation: Besides just getting the heating, this vest also comes with insulation. This provides additional warmth and makes this product useful when the heating is turned off.
  • Lightweight: Another aspect that you’re going to appreciate is how lightweight this vest is. This means you you can wear a jacket over this product and it makes it perfect for all activities involving involvement.
  • Extremely durable: You won’t have to worry about rips or anything like that either. This Action Heat Vest will stand up to what ever you throw at it.

Of all the vests you’ve seen so far this is one of the most expensive but not by much. It’s certainly still affordable enough that most people should be able to purchase it.

Gyde Men’s Calor Heated Vest

Company: Gyde

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.8/5

Of all the vests on this list, the Gyde Calor is one of my favorite looking – I find something very stylish about it and is one you can easily wear in your everyday life. Also, you can wear it in when you’re being active too.

Like the Lenz vest you saw earlier, the Calor can be controlled through Bluetooth. This makes life a lot easier and ensures you can easily change the heat depending on the weather.

  • 4 heat settings: This is another product that gives you 4 different heat settings. This just means you’ll get the perfect amount of warmth no matter how cold or warm it is.
  • Lightweight: One reason you can wear this vest when doing anything that involves movement is it’s very lightweight. You won’t feel slowed down or stiffled because of this.
  • 135 degrees of heat: This is a good amount of heat and you’ll definitely appreciate this when its very cold out. You get less heat on lower heat settings for when it’s not as cold.
  • 4 heating zones: You get 4 heating zones around this product – you get two on your chest, one on your back and one on the collar.
  • Weather proof: It doesn’t matter if it’s windy, snowing or raining, you’ll be protected wearing the Calor. The outer shell is made to stand up to Mother Nature’s worst.
  • 278 grams of insulation: This vest is packed to the brim with Micro Fiber Fill and this is just another way you’re protected from the cold.

Surprisingly, the Calor isn’t that expensive and will cost around $150. It’s definitely worth that price and comes in 7 different colors. To see them all, click below:

ARRIS 5v Heated Vest

Company: ARRIS

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.8/5

This Arris 5V vest may not be the most popular on the market but it’s one that is very underrated. This is a jacket that won’t break the bank and still performs pretty well.

One thing that makes this product special is it comes with 5 heating zones, which is more than most. You get two heating zones on your chest and you get three on your back (two on the lower back and one on the top).

  • Carbon fiber heating elements: This vest comes with carbon fiber heating elements and there’s a few benefits to this. First off, carbon fiber is fast heating and you won’t have to wait for it to warm up. Also, it’s very safe and won’t cause you any problems.
  • Lightweight: This Arris product is very lightweight and non-bulky. That allows this product to cater to mobility and is good for any activity that involves movement.
  • 3 heat settings: Just like all the other heated vests on this list, this one comes with 3 different heating settings.
  • 7 hours of battery life: This isn’t the best battery life but it’s not bad. If you’re afraid this isn’t enough to get you through the day you could always charge up during lunch.
  • USB port: This is a feature you’ve seen a few times already and one that I like to see. This will prevent you from having a dead phone.

Like I said, this vest actually is pretty cheap and will cost under $100. With all that you’re getting and the cheap price, this Arris vest is one of the best heated vests on this list.

Volt Men’s Heated Vest

Company: Volt

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.8/5

Here we have another product from Volt and this one is every bit as quality as the one you’ve seen already. Like that one, this one comes with 4 heat settings. This means you get an extra setting to make sure you are perfectly comfortable at all times.

Another aspect that you’re going to like is the Zero Layer Heat technology. What this does is heats this product up quickly and makes sure you core is heated. This helps you when the weather is particularly cold.

  • Fleece material: This product comes with fleece and is another reason this vest is comfortable. You’ll really enjoy wearing it!
  • 3 heating zones: You get heating on your chest and back too. This is a good amount of coverage and ensures you’ll be toasty when its frigid.
  • Quick Charging time: Some vests take forever to charge and can take up to 8 hours. Luckily, this Volt product charges up in about 3 to 4 hours.

This vest costs where you’d expect it to be and I’d describe it as fairly priced (around $179). This item is very dependable and a safe choice too. If you decide on it you’ll be happy with what you get.

PROSmart 5V Heated Vest

Company: PROSmart

Price: $$

Our Rating: 4.7/5

Here we have another inexpensive option and the PROSmart 5V is a lot like the products you’ve already seen. One thing that I like and that I know you’re going to like is the ability to charge your electronics.

Because this product is run by a powerbank battery, it has USB ports. So if your phone is dying or on the way to dying, you can just plug it in. That can be a literal life saver!

  • 3 heat settings: This isn’t a very unique feature but it is a must have. You want the ability to choose how much heat you get and this gives you that power.
  • 12 hours of battery life: There’s not many instances where you’ll be in the cold for more than 12 hours straight. Because you get 12 hours of warmth, this vest should keep you toasty no matter what you’re doing.
  • Machine washable: Do you like hand washing clothes? Probably not. This product is machine washable and that makes life a little easier.
  • 140 degrees of heat: This is a good amount of heat and will prevent you from getting cold. There’s less heat on the lower settings too.
  • Fleece material: One thing that you’ll appreciate about this PROSmart vest is it’s made from fleece. This provides additional comfort and warmth.

So how much is this product going to cost? Only around $79. This is a good price and this makes this vest one of the cheaper you’ll find!

Verseo ThermoVest Heated Vest

Company: Verseo

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.7/5

The Verseo ThermoVest is one of the thinner products on this list and can be worn as either a vest or vest liner. I personally would wear something over or under the ThermoVest if you’re expecting bad weather (if it’s raining, snowing or very windy).

Like all the vests you’ve seen so far, this one comes with multiple heat settings. You get a high, medium and low and you’ll always get the perfect amount of warmth because of this.

  • 7.5 hours of heat: On the lowest heat setting you get up to 7.5 hours of heat. If you need a little more juice you can always charge it during lunch
  • USB port: This is an aspect that I know you’re going to appreciate. If your phone is dead or close to it, you can charge it by plugging it into the USB port.
  • Lightweight: This is another product that’s not bulky. This makes it perfect if you plan on skiing or want to layer with a sweatshirt or jacket.
  • 3 heating zones: You get pretty good heat coverage if you decide on this jacket too. You get two heating zones for your chest and one for you back.

I don’t believe this product is the highest quality but it’s still pretty effective. Also, it’s one of the cheaper vests on this list and the Thermovest is one of the few products that cost under $100 on the market.

Paul Hamilton Men’s Heated Vest

Company: Paul Hamilton

Price: $$

Our Rating: 4.6/5

If you’re on a budget or don’t want to spend a lot of money, this Paul Hamilton vest can work for you. Do I think it’s on the same level as some of the top products you’ve seen on this list so far? Not really but in the right situations it’ll work just fine.

I personally think this vest would work more for fashion and for shorter times in the cold – maybe when commuting to work, walking your dog or shoveling a smaller driveway. If you try to spend several hours in the freezing weather you may be a little disappointed.

  • 111 degrees of heat on high: There’s a few vests on this list that heat up to 150 degrees. This is why I don’t think this product should be worn in freezing weather.
  • 3 heat settings: This product comes with 3 different heat settings which is standard. In fact, all the vests you’ve seen so far come with multiple settings.
  • 4 hours of heat: This is another feature that’s not overly impressive and many other vests can hold a charge for double this.
  • Carbon fiber heating elements: Carbon fiber is very safe to use and quickly heats up – you won’t be waiting all day to get the warmth.

One thing that’s a plus here is this product is very, very inexpensive. In fact, it’s the cheapest vest on this list and will cost under $50. Just keep in mind it’s not my top pick by any means necessary, though.

Heated Vests For Women

Ororo Women’s Heated Vest

Company: Ororo

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.9/5

Ororo was the first vest I listed for men and it’s the first I’m listing for women too. The reason I love this product so much is it balances functionality, style and price very well – it honestly delivers in each category.

One thing that I know you’re going to love is this vest comes with 10 to 12 hours of heat on the lowest setting. It doesn’t matter if you’re skiing, walking your dog or hiking, that should be enough to keep you toasty.

  • 131 degrees on high heat: This is a good amount of heat and is enough to fight off the cold, even if it’s dipping into the single digits.
  • USB port: This is definitely a feature that you’re going to appreciate. If your phone is about to die you can just plug it in the USB port and watch it charge.
  • Machine washable: Hand washing a piece of clothing is never fun. With this Ororo vest you won’t have to do that and you can throw it in the wash.
  • 4 heat settings: Usually you only get 3 heat settings but this product comes with an extra setting. This gives you even more control over the amount of warmth you get.

Like I said up top this vest is affordable too and definitely one of the top values on the market. Also, it has excellent reviews and if you want to read what over a 100 customers are saying about this vest, click below:

Lenz Women’s 1.0 Heated Vest

Company: Lenz

Price: $$$$$

Our Rating: 4.9/5

If you’re looking for the pinnacle of heated vests, the Lenz Women’s 1.0 is a good place to start. Lenz is a high end maker of many different products including heated socks, gloves and other apparel.

What separates all their products, including this vest, is you can control the heating elements through the Lenz Heat App on your smart phone. You won’t have to search around for the controller or battery in the vest. You can simply take your phone out, set the heat and be on with your day.

  • 20 hours of heat: You won’t find more battery life than this. 20 hours is a remarkable amount of warmth and you won’t have to worry about dealing with the cold with this product.
  • Lightweight an breathable: This vest is perfect for all activities that require mobility. That’s because it’s very light and it won’t feel restricting or bulky while wearing.
  • 4 way stretch materials: This is another reason this product is good for movement. The materials stretch and you’ll get a wide range of motion with this.
  • Machine washable: The Lenz 1.0 can also be machine washable. This saves you a little effort when it comes time to clean it.
  • All weather proof: If the weather starts to turn sour don’t worry – this vest can handle any weather you may get caught in.

If there’s a downside to this vest and all Lenz products, it’s that they’re pricey. How pricey? This vest will cost over $300 to purchase. If you only get outdoors every once in a while the 1.0 may not be worth it. But if you love to be outside no matter how cold it is, this product is definitely worth its investment.

Mobile Warming Women’s Whitney Heated Vest

Company: Mobile Warming

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.8/5

The Mobile Warming Whitney is another product that any serious outdoor enthusiast is going to love. The vest is highly protective and is one that you can wear when you’re skiing, hiking or doing any other vigorous activities.

One of the reasons for this is the Whitney comes with 4 way stretch materials. You’ll be able to move as much as you need to without feeling stifled.

  • 4 heat settings: This is another vest that comes with an extra heat setting. It doesn’t matter if the weather is very cold or almost warm, you’ll be able to find a setting that works for you.
  • 10 hours of heat: On the lowest heat setting you get 10 hours of heat. This is a good amount of warmth and should protect you no matter what you’re doing.
  • 135 degrees of heat: On the highest heat setting you get around 135 degrees of heat which is good if it’s very cold. On the lowest setting you get around 90 degrees of heat.
  • 3 heating panels: The Whitney comes with 3 different heat zones with two on the chest and 1 on the back. This will keep you warm all over and heat up your core.

This product isn’t exactly cheap but I wouldn’t say it’s overly expensive either. It’s certainly cheaper than the Lenz vest you just saw. This is definitely a heated vest all women should consider. You’ll enjoy what it can do for you.

Volt Women’s Cracow Heated Vest

Company: Volt

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.8/5

Volt is well known in the heated gear world and you can buy many products from them ranging from heated socks, gloves, jackets, slippers, scarves and of course heated vests. Their Cracow is one of their top products too and one you’re going to like wearing.

This is another one of the vests that has 4 heat settings. On the highest setting you get around 2.5 hours of battery life and on the lowest setting you get around 10 hours of heat.

  • 4 different heating panels: This product has all around warmth too. You get 4 different heating panels throughout this vest and that should keep you nice and toasty.
  • 170 degrees of heat on high: This is one of the highest outputs of heat you can get and is guaranteed to keep you warm when it’s very cold. There’s significantly lower heat outputs with the other heat settings.
  • Zero Layer Heat System: This heat system has a dual function. The first is to make this product heat up efficiently and quickly. The second is to eliminate the overall bulkiness of this product so you can move around well.
  • 80 grams of fiberfill insulation: If you want even more warmth, this insulation will satisfy you. In fact, this insulation will provide enough warmth you can shut the heater off from time to time.

If you’re looking for a budget friendly vest, the Cracow wont’ be your first choice. It’s not overly expensive or anything like that but it’s not cheap either.

Venture Heat Women’s City Collection

Company: Venture Heat

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.8/5

The Venture Heat City Collection is a lot like the products you’ve seen already. There’s not really any feature that this product has that sets it apart from the others but it’s not lacking in any department either. I consider this vest a safe pick.

For example, the City Collection comes with 3 different heat settings. This is something all vests on this list come with but it’s still important to have. You want control over the amount of heat you get and this gives you that.

  • 5 hours of warmth: This isn’t the most on the list but it’s not horrible. If you plan on skiing with this vest make sure to charge it during lunch.
  • Lightweight: This product is easy to wear and won’t feel too bulky. This means you can have it on when you’re skiing and doing other activities like that.
  • Stylish: Another aspect you’re going to like about the City Collection is it looks good. You can easily wear this vest in your everyday life without any issues.

The price is right where you’d expect for a vest like this to be and it will cost in the $150 to $170 range. This is a very good price for what you’re getting and you’ll like the performance it delivers at that cost.

Dewalt Women’s Heated Vest

Company: Dewalt

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.8/5

Some of the vests you’ve seen so far have been perfect for skiing or made more for style. While the Dewalt works if you’re skiing and looks good, it’s very durable and meant to be pushed.

Dewalt is made for women that work with their hands. It can stand up to a full work day and be perfectly fine – you won’t have to worry about it ripping or anything like that.

  • 3 heating zones: There’s a lot of heat coverage with this product and you get 3 heating zones. You’ll feel warmth all over because of this.
  • 2 USB ports: This is one of my favorite features and ensures you’ll never have to worry about a dead phone again. When you see that you’re on 5% or less, just plug your phone into the jacket and let it charge!
  • 7 hours of run time: 7 hours is a pretty good amount of battery and should last enough to get your through the day. If you’re working extra and need more than 7 hours of warmth, just make sure to charge it during lunch.
  • 3 heat settings: Basically all the products on this list come with more than one heat setting and this Dewalt vest is no different.

Dewalt makes heated jackets too and they’re very expensive. The good news with this vest is they’re actually not too pricey and cost about the same as the ones you’ve seen so far.

Ororo Women’s Slim Fit Heated Vest

Company: Ororo

Price: $$$

Our Rating: 4.7/5

This is the second vest you’ve seen so far from Ororo and it’s a little different than the ones you’ve seen so far. The previous vests are ones that you can wear all by themselves if it’s warm enough or under another layer.

This product, however, should only be worn under another piece of clothing. It’s not insulated and provides no extra warmth besides the heating elements and gives you no protection against rain, snow or wind.

  • Very lightweight: As you can probably tell by looking at this vest, it’s lightweight and won’t take up a lot of room. This makes it perfect for layering.
  • 8 hours of battery life: This is a good amount of time and should keep any person warm the whole day, no matter what they’re doing.
  • USB port: This is a feature you’ve seen on a few vests so far and is one I appreciate a lot. No one likes a dead phone and the USB port built into the vest prevents you from ever having to deal with that.
  • Machine washable: The fact you can wash this product in the washing machine makes it convenient. You won’t have to do anything special when it comes time clean.
  • Carbon fiber heating elements: Carbon heating is very safe to use and it heats up quickly. You’ll get warmth the second you turn the heater on.

Because this product is more minimal than some of the others it’s going to cost less to purchase. It’s actually one of the few garments listed here that’s under $100 to buy. As long as you’re not looking for a vest to wear on the outside, you’ll like what you get here.

ARRIS Unisex 5V Heated Vest

Company: ARRIS

Price: $$

Our Rating: 4.7/5

If you’re on a budget and don’t really want to sacrifice too much on quality, this is the product for you. This Arris vest has all the features you’d want in in a heated vest without costing too much.

One of those features that’s a must have is this vest comes with multiple heat settings. You need a high, medium and low setting so you can get the perfect warmth at all times. This vest actually goes a step further and comes with two extra settings, giving you 5 in total!

  • Works with any powerbank: A battery doesn’t come with this vest but it works with any powerbank. You can find powerbanks for pretty cheap and at different power outputs.
  • 3 heating panels: This product comes with all around warmth and you get heating on the frontisde and back. This will keep you toasty when it gets cold out.
  • USB port: I’ve already mentioned a few times that I love this feature and is one that you should look for. It’s always nice to have the ability to charge your phone or other electronics whenever you want.

Like I said up top this vest isn’t very expensive and you can find it for around $79. That’s a pretty good deal for what you’re getting and one you won’t mind paying once you start wearing this product.

FITTOP Heated Vest

Company: FITTOP

Price: $$

Our Rating: 4.7/5

Last on the list is the FITTOP heated vest and this product is a lot like the Ororo Slim Fit you saw earlier. This definitely isn’t something I’d wear on the outside during cool days alone and is a product you’re going to want to layer – it’s just very thin and won’t do much to protect against rain and stuff like that.

One thing that’s pretty cool is this vest is charged through USB. This means it doesn’t come with a charger of its own and will work with chargers you already have (Iphone chargers, laptop and more). Many cars have USB ports too!

  • Carbon fiber heating elements: A few vests on this list have carbon fiber heating and this allows this product to heat up quickly.
  • Machine washable: You won’t have to hand wash this vest or do anything special with it. You can just stick in the wash with your other clothes.
  • Two heat settings: Most of the products you’ve seen so far have come with 3 heat settings but this one only comes with 2. That’s not terrible, though, and should work for a lot of people.

Probably the best feature is the price and this vest is the cheapest of all at around $65. Do I think it’s as good as some the other vests that cost double or triple? Definitely not. As long as you use it in the right situations, though, it can still be an effective piece of clothing.

Heated Vest FAQ’S

1) What are top brands?

Answer: There’s a few brands that are well known when it comes to these products and the top are:

  • Ororo
  • Volt
  • Mobile Warming
  • Lenz
  • Action Heat

And more. If you get a vest from one of these companies you know you’re getting a well made product and one that’s going to perform well.

2) How much do these products typically cost?

Answer: The cost of a heated vest depends on the brand you’re buying from and the features. I’d say the typical cost is going to be $150 to $170. There’s some products that cost half that and are priced around $80 while there’s some that are double and cost around $300.

3) Where can I buy these vests?

Answer: These aren’t the most common products on earth and you may not have a store near you that sells them. Luckily, there’s plenty of places online to buy them and I provided a link to each product with the best price.

4) What are the pros and cons?

1. Cold Protection

Heated vests are designed to do just as its name might imply–keep you warm. As such, for those who like to hunt or perform winter activities in the bitter cold, a heated vest is going to be your best friend. While gloves and other clothing items can be heated as well, unless your torso is feeling toasty as well, you’re going to have a difficult time enjoying yourself in the cold weather. Wearing a heated vest designed for the outdoors in the winter is a sure way to keep yourself safe when working or playing outside in the colder climate.

2. Varying Temperatures

Sometimes you don’t need a full blast of heat to keep you warm. Perhaps you only want a heated vest during the fall and spring seasons where it’s not quite as bitter cold, but still cold enough that you require a little help to keep you warm. Luckily, with how popular heated vests have become, there are many vests that come with the option of what temperature you want your vest to produce. Because of this, you can control how toasty you can become. That makes the vest wearable not just in the frigid temperatures of winter but also during the seasons where there’s enough of a chill to make you uncomfortable.

3. Snug Fit

While this mostly has to do with ensuring that you’re buying the proper vest for your body, by and large, the vest is designed to hold to your body snugly. This is especially important when wanting to ensure that the heat is reaching your body. After all, you don’t want to buy a heated clothing item only for the heat to escape into the air because the clothing item isn’t clasping to your body correctly. The heating vest, by design, is crafted to hug your body, so all of that heat being produced is pressing directly to your body.

4. No Electrocution

Some may fear that having a heated vest could actually electrocute them if something were to go wrong. While it is an understandable fear, it is unwarranted. The electronics used in heated vests made today are usually powered by a battery. The voltage that is being spread through the vest is typically small enough. So small that it’s on the same level as an electronic toy. Because parents don’t want their kids being electrocuted by playing with their new favorite toy, you can be sure that if the voltage there is small enough not to cause harm, then the voltage being used in your vest is small enough not to cause harm. Essentially, the heated vest is safe to use without worrying about being electrocuted.

5. Comfortable

Another aspect that may worry you about a heated vest is if it’s actually comfortable to wear. You may think that with all of those wires and the battery pack, you may have uncomfortable bumps and ridges poking into your body. That isn’t the case. Vests are built with a lot of padding, so it’s comfortable to wear. You can roll around on the ground hunting, fall down when skiing, or just take a leisurely walk, and you shouldn’t notice the wiring spread throughout the vest. In fact, other than the heat emanating throughout the vest, you likely won’t even be able to tell that the vest is any different from any other outdoor vest.

6. Stylish

Back when heated vests were first being made, there wasn’t a lot of choices when it came to varying designs. Thankfully, with how popular they’ve become, there are now plenty of different styles and looks of vests from which you can select. No longer do you have to sacrifice aesthetically pleasing vests with heated vests that function well. You can look good and stay warm at the same time.

7. Pockets

While there are few on the market, there is a heated vest out there that comes with just heated pockets. So, if all you want is a warm pocket to place your freezing hands inside of, then there’s an option for you. Essentially, whatever your needs may be, you can likely find a heated vest that can suit your requirements.

8. Easily Chargeable

Maintenance is always something to consider when choosing to buy something electronic. In regards to the heated vest, making sure that your vest is powered is pretty simple. Most vests come with a battery charger, but even if it doesn’t, it’s pretty easy to find a battery charger online for sale. One of the best features of a heated vest is that you don’t have to spend money on batteries every few weeks or months. Not only does this cut down on electronic waste, but it also helps your wallet out in the long run. If your vest’s battery needs a boost, all you have to do is place it in the charger and plug the charger inside of a socket. After a few hours, the battery will be ready to go again, and you can easily install it back into the vest and be on your way for your scheduled activities. That’s all it takes.

9. No Airport Ban

You may also be wondering if you can travel with your heated vest on an airplane. After all, far too often, airplanes can actually become extremely cold. Or you may be traveling to somewhere freezing, and you want to be prepared as soon as you leave the airport. Luckily, heated vests are on the list of allowable items by the TSA. They are viewed as, essentially, the same as an electronic blanket. So, you don’t have to worry about tripping any alarms or being tackled by a TSA agent when you’re wearing your heated vest in an airport.

10. Durable

While it certainly depends on the model of the vest in question that you buy, by and large, these vests were made to be durable. For those who intend to crawl around on the ground hunting or anticipate falling during a fun skiing venture, you’ll definitely want to look into procuring some of the vests specifically designed for those activities. That way you can be sure that you’re acquiring the most durable vest you can for those high-impact vests. Either way, these vests typically can last for some time.

1. Wiring Issues

Like many other clothing items, if you buy the cheaper brand, you’re likely going to experience some difficulties. The vest could wear out more quickly, or the wiring may not be the best. In regards to the latter, for a heated vest, this could prove problematic. While vests are made to reduce the risk of catching fire, a faulty wiring system could cause a fire to start. As such, when you’re shopping for heated vests, sometimes cheaper is not always the best option.

2. Lack Of Cover

Another aspect of the heated vest that you may find lacking is that the vest actually lacks in coverage of your body. While there are many different styles of vests out there, and so some cover your body more than other, the heated vest isn’t the same as say a heated jacket or heated hoodie. As such, you need to understand what parts of your body you want to be heated and if the uncovered or unheated parts of your body is going to cause you some discomfort in the long-run. If you think that you only need a little warmth in the main core of your body, then a vest is likely the perfect choice for you. However, if you feel that you want your entire body covered–arms, too–then you may want to look for another heated item that isn’t the vest.

3. Washing Difficulties

While some might not find the idea of washing all that difficult, others just might be put off by it. Instead of being able to just throw your vest into the washer like any other form of clothing, you actually need to make sure that you remove the battery first. Otherwise, you could have quite the mess on your hands. Typically, you don’t have to remove the wiring inside of the vest, but some brands may require you to do that, too.

5) How to size one of these vests?

Answer: Measuring the Vest Size for Men

Step 1: Measure Your Chest
Measuring your chest is one of the essential stages because it determines how your vest will fit you around your upper body and in areas around your nipple. The size of your vest plays a crucial role in determining the actual size of your vest because it shows around your whole upper body. To measure the chest area, you will be required to wrap the tape measure around your chest and just slightly below the armpit. The tap measure should pass your chest nipples below so that you can get the exact size of your chest. Some people have large and sagged nipples which makes them drop the tap measure below the nipples down to almost around the stomach. This will give wrong measurements as you are only required to measure the exact area around the chest without taking the tape measure too high or too low.

Step 2: Measure Your Middle Area
The second step involves measuring your middle area so that you can determine the overall size of your vest where it is the greatest. Most men, especially those with bigger tummies have the preference for a bigger vest around their bellies so that they cannot feel stretched. While measuring the middle part, you should be strict such that you only measure the central area and not the belt area. These are two different measurements, and they may cause to have a poorly fitting vest if you confuse one measurement for the other. Most of the people have measured their middle part to measuring the areas around the belt which makes them end up having a slimmer vest than they would have anticipated. Men without bellies should also put serious considerations when measuring the middle area because theirs is not the fullest. Sometimes it might be the smallest making them have a tight vest from top to bottom.

Step 3: Length in Center Back
Some people confuse this with the overall measurement of your height. This does not seem right as it tries to find the length between your neck and the waist area. Center back length is one of the most critical areas when one measures to determine the length of the vest that he will require. Most men need a vest that is not too long down such that it goes beyond the waist area. However, the vest must be long enough such that it covers the full length of the body between the waist area and the neck.

Due to the different types of the vest, this length may differ from one person to another. For example, the vest used for sports purposes is supposedly long and goes way down to cover your pants. This is not the same for the vest that is mostly worn for official purposes. To measure the exact length in your center back, hold the tape from the base of your collar such that it is vertical with the pant at the bottom where your vest will be.

Step 4: Overall Height of the Body
This height is used to give the overall size of the vest needed. It is not a necessary measure to take, especially when other measurements have been taken in the most precise method. Measuring this height helps in giving a short length to the vest so that it does not get pulled up, especially when one is bending forward.

Measuring the Vest Size for Women

Step 1: Measure Your Busst
When measuring the size of the vest for women, completely different measures are taken because women’s body is significantly different from that of men. Women must measure their bust first as it comprises their fullest part which might indicate the size of the vest they would require. When someone measures the length of your burst, he or she should wrap the tape all around it. It is also important to highlight that your bra should be on to incorporate its space as well.

Step 2: Measure Your Waist
This measurement does not apply to men because they usually tack in their vests inside their pants or short. Women prefer their waist to be measured so that the vest might not be too baggy such that one looks as if she is wearing an oversize vest. It is important to highlight that the size of your waits should be measured where your belt should be.

Step 3: Length in Center Back
This is a standard measurement for vest size between both women and men. It helps in determining the actual length of your body so that the vest is not too long then your overall height. Women have been seen preferring a long vest because they prefer their pants being covered, especially at the back. Center back length varies from one person to the other depending on their personal preferences. The tape should be held such that it is vertically downward from the collar to the waist.

Step 4: Overall Height
Understanding your overall height is essential as it helps you to order a vest that is not shorter or longer than you while at the same time giving you an allowance to bend forward without exposing your body.

The following are some critical factors to consider when measuring your vest size
 It is always recommended to have someone measure you, preferably a tailor. Measuring yourself could result in significant errors as you may hold the tap wrongly while at the same time have errors of judgment.

 It is recommended that you don’t suck in your stomach as doing so will give the wrong measurement when measuring the torso area and the overall size of the vest.

 Use a measurement material that does not stretch such as tailor’s tape or a string. Using a stretching material may not give you a reasonable and a reliable size of your vest

 Do not wear a thicker top when measuring for the vest as it may cause you to order a bigger vest than your overall body size.

 Lastly, it is advisable that you wear the pants that you plan to be wearing with the vest so that you can determine the actual length; where you would like the vest and the pant to meet.
